ASALH 101st Annual Meeting and Conference Journals
Our client, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH) gathered for their 101st Annual Meeting and Conference from October 5 to 9, 2016 in Richmond, Va. This event drew ASALH members and others from around the country to hear prominent speakers and to participate in over 300 workshops on the year’s chosen Black History Theme: “Hallowed Ground: Sites of African American Memories.” A related Featured Authors Event showcased an array of prominent authors and noteworthy books related to African American history and experiences.
From July through September 2016, Perisphere worked closely with the ASALH team in curating, designing, proofing, and finalizing their 64-page Souvenir Journal and 80-page Academic Program Journal. This extensive print design effort included incorporating provided graphic collateral into the layout of both documents, copy and design review of camera-ready ads, layout and typesetting of all text pages, and from-scratch design of a number of pages and elements, including several future event registration forms.
In related efforts, Perisphere was also engaged to create a handouts for the Featured Authors Event, as well as a related flyer noting Exhibitors at the event.
