SOAR!: Support Our Aging Religious (2015 Redesign)
Support Our Aging Religious (SOAR!) raises funds and provides grants to help Catholic religious congregations in the United States care for their elderly and infirm members. These grants address practical immediate needs such as renovations for accessibility, automatic doors, hospital beds and assistive devices. This assistance ensures the safety, peace of mind, and dignity of aging and infirm Sisters, Brothers and Priests.
SOAR! has been a Perisphere client since 2012. We worked collaboratively with them to upgrade, host, and maintain their previous WordPress-based website. With the continued growth of their granting activities for elderly and infirm religious, and their increased need to enhance their website presence to compliment their fundraising and other activities, SOAR! approached us in early 2015 with a request to redesign and host a new WordPress-based website.
We worked with them to strategically review their existing brand marks, including logo, color palette and key brand images and performed a minor refresh of their brand as a guide for the design of the new website. Over a four month period, we engaged with them each step of the way to ensure the new website would support enhanced functionality for multiple forms of content, be fully responsive, and enhance the visual presentation of the important work they do in helping to assure the quality of life for aging Catholic religious.
We coordinated an effort to migrate content from their old website and edited it to conform to their new branded style, and helped guide the production of new content for the website, which now serves their efforts to highlight their granting efforts for religious communities, as well as the individual giving and annual benefit dinners and other fundraising events which make their granting work possible. We also enhanced the new website with a more prominent blog to highlight inspirational stories and narratives about the concrete impact SOAR!’s grant work has on the lives of elderly religious. We developed a dedicated news page to share official press releases, announcements, and other important news from the SOAR! national office, and deployed an events page which highlights key fundraising events. Finally, we designed a donation microsite template to highlight special giving opportunities throughout the year and worked in collaboration with their CRM provider in the design of related third-party donation and registration pages.
The new SOAR! website launched in October 2015 and we continue to work closely with SOAR! to meet their strategic goals utilizing their website and we provided substantial training and documentation to SOAR! staff to familiarize them with their new website’s capabilities and functionality.
