Ecumenical Advocacy Days National Gathering 2019: ‘Troubling the Waters’
In 2019, Ecumenical Advocacy Days (EAD), a coalition of more than 50 national and regional Christian social-justice organizations and congregations, drew hundreds of people to its National Gathering and Lobby Day in the Greater Washington, D.C. area. Held on April 5-8, 2019, under the theme of “Troubling the Waters for the Healing of the World,” the focus of the event and subsequent Congressional advocacy was addressing protection and expansion of voting rights in the U.S. and protection of human rights abroad. tThe National Gathering weekend consisted of keynote plenaries, issues and advocacy skills workshops, worship, networking, and preparation for a lobby day on Capitol Hill around specific legislative policies.
Perisphere served as EAD’s strategic partner throughout the course of the entire yearly event cycle, providing integrated support on all components. Building upon EAD’s chosen theme brand, we provided collateral design for the year’s theme. Our ongoing efforts also included website content updates and focused email communication. Our 3-member team was on-site for the whole event weekend to facilitate A/V needs, provide a YouTube live stream of selected plenaries, engage in social media and communications for EAD and the event, and keep participants informed and engaged via our managed event app.
We provided supplementary content for EAD’s 2019 promotional and event activities, including brochure and conference folder design, as well as a sample social media with curated hashtags. We also worked closely with EAD to produce a branded PowerPoint template for use in visual projection at the event.
